Our Lesson Policies
Lesson Attendance and Cancellations
- Punctual consecutive weekly attendance is required. Students must book consistent weekly lessons throughout each month (unless on a biweekly commitment).
Skipped lessons are only allowed during holiday periods (see section below) otherwise they are considered cancelled lessons and will be billed as usual. - In case of a cancelled lesson, the lesson is non-refundable, and the travel fee will be refunded back on the next billing cycle by being applied against the bill for that period.
- A maximum of 2 lesson cancellations per school semester will receive a make-up lesson at another time convenient to both the teacher and the student.
No make-up lessons will apply for cancellations beyond the maximum allowance. These lessons will be considered forfeited.
Semester 1: September 1st - January 31st
Semester 2: February 1st - June 30th
- Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time to receive a make-up lesson (for definition of a make-up lesson, please see below).
- No shows or failure to notify the school/teacher within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
- There are NO refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.
Make Up Lessons
- Lessons cancelled at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled lesson will receive a make-up lesson at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student, as long as the student hasn’t used up their maximum allowance of 2 cancellations per school semester.
- Typically, make-up lessons take place at an alternate time/day within the week, as timeslots become available. Make-up lessons are a courtesy and are not guaranteed.
Contact your teacher directly to book your make-up lesson within the business hours. - Make-up lessons not used after 3 months will be considered forfeited.
Payments
- Term lessons are paid in monthly instalments for all scheduled lessons in the month and are usually due at the first lesson of each month. In case of starting up the lessons for the first time payments payments are usually due on the 1st of the month. Please check the due date on your current invoice.
- If the lesson is cancelled for any reason, the payment is still due on the day of the first scheduled lesson.
- $20 late payment fee is applied to any outstanding bills which are 7 days overdue as well as NSF Cheques.
- Overdue accounts can resume lessons when a payment has been made.
- E-transfer payments are preferred but Cash and Cheque payments as well as Post-Dated Cheques are also accepted.
For payments made by e-transfer, send the payments to the e-mail address corresponding to your music teacher.
