Sara Davis Buechner is one of the leading keyboard artists of our time. Winner of a bouquet of prizes from the world's great piano competitions, including winner of the gold medal in the 1984 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, the Bronze medal in the 1986 Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow. Now residing in Canada, she enjoys a vibrant international performance and recording career and is a Professor of Music at the University of British Columbia. The Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra is extremely privileged to be accompanying Ms. Buchener on May 23 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre for Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

Dr. Lewis has performed with the Phoenix, Flagstaff, Regina, Colorado Springs, Fraser Valley, Chilliwack Symphonies; Rochester and Vancouver Philharmonics, and the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra and others. As soloist he has performed in many cities in the US, Canada and Europe including Boston Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall in NY, Vancouver's Canada Place, Moose Jaw, Abbotsford and Chilliwack and more

There will be some special guests: a world class clarinetist Gene Ramsbottom, Chilliwacks vocalists Paula Quick and one of her students, and Curbside Jazz Band from Chilliwack.
$15 for adults
$10 for seniors, veterans, and students

The Fourth Annual Brassfest

 The Fourth Annual Brassfest workshop held at the University of British Columbia on Sunday, January 19, from 11am-6pm. A full day of clinics and performances, Brassfest is designed for players of all ages and skill levels. The day of special events will feature internationally renowned guest artist Barbara Butler, trumpet, as well as workshops by UBC faculty members Larry Knopp, Alan Matheson, Ben Kinsman, Richard Mingus, Jeremy Berkman, Greg Cox, and Peder Maclellan; with performances by Vancouver Brass Project and UBC Brass Ensembles; and a Brass Resource Centre featuring equipment and sheet music displays by our generous sponsors: Long & McQuade, Tom Lee Music, Tapestry Music, Conn Selmer, Yamaha Canada Music, and more!

November 2, 2013 Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra will be  presenting its fall concert "Nature, Life and Love" concert. Brahms Academic Overture will start the evening and Cellist Benjamin Louwersheimer will be performing the Schumann Cello Concerto Opus 129. The second half of the concert will be dedicated to the Dvorak Trilogy of Overtures.                                                                                                                               At the Chilliwack Cultural Centre 7:30 PM.
